Weekly Update, Week Ending December 19, 2008

Wellpoint installation
Sevenson Environmental, National Grid’s Remediation Contractor, completed pre-trenching for the soil mix wall activities this week. Debris that is removed during pre-trenching is placed inside the designated storage pad, sprayed with long duration foam and covered with a plastic liner to mitigate potential odors until the debris is removed from the site for disposal. Last week 8 trucks were utilized to transport and dispose of 178 tons of the soil mix wall spoils to thermal facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Sevenson’s soil mix wall subcontractor, Geocon, completed the construction of the soil mix wall along the perimeter of the site. A total of 321 soil mix wall columns were installed.
