We Are Done!
![]() |
National Grid has completed remedial construction at the former MGP site in the Village of Sag Harbor. We would like to express our appreciation to Mayor Ferraris and the Village Trustees, Trustee Ed Deyermond, Assemblyman Fred Thiele and all of our neighbors in the Village for their cooperation and patience during this important project. We promised that we would complete this work before the start of the summer season, and it would not have been possible without such great support throughout the community.
With this report, we will no longer provide weekly Progress Reports on this website. We will update the website should any developments related to the site be of community interest, as reports on the completion of the work are accepted by the NYSDEC and as our Quarterly Monitoring Reports are accepted by that agency.
Current Progress for Week Ending 05/29/09
Sevenson Environmental, National Grid’s Remediation Contractor, completed the importation of natural stone blend material and Type II gravel and has brought the site to final grade. Sevenson completed removing walls/partitions within the Fisher’s Annex building which was used as the on-site field offices for the project. Sevenson completed the decommissioning of the water treatment plant and the decontamination and demobilization of equipment and supplies from the site. An additional 3,888 gallons of stormwater was collected and transported to Clean Waters of New York for treatment and disposal. The total amount of water sent to Clean Waters is 36,220 gallons.
Sevenson’s paving sub-contractor, Corazzini Paving, completed the installation of the parking area in front of the Fisher’s Annex building. Sevenson’s fencing sub-contractor, Shannon Fence, continued the installation of permanent chain-link fencing separating the National Grid property from the Schiavoni property to the north and the Fisher’s Annex building to the south.

Final Site Restoration Work
Sevenson’s paving contractor are completing the refurbishment of the Village parking lot on Meadow Street this week. Final restorations of the site and the surrounding areas disturbed during construction, including placement of topsoil, re-seeding and planting of native species trees also will be completed this week. All site work will be completed by the end of the week.
Again, National Grid wishes to thank all those involved in the successful completion of this project and especially the citizens of the Village of Sag Harbor for their patience and understanding.
